Barbara married Georg Friedrich DOERR on the 3rd of November 1864 in Kassel, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia. This union was blessed with 10 children; Magdalena, Jacob F, Katherina, Christina, Karolina, Karl, Eva, Paulina, Beata and Elizabeth.
The family immigrated to South Dakota in 1893. After Georg died in June 1900, Barbara married Friedrich METTLER on the 14th of June 1902.
Barbara METTLER died at Mannhaven, Mercer County, North Dakota and probably was laid to rest there. However, during the construction of the 'Garrison Dam' there is a possibility that her remains may have been re-interred at the Pick City Lutheran 'Trinity Mannhaven Cemetery'.
