ELIZABETH ANN "BETTY" MENDOZA, 79, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hattie Grohman; brothers, Joseph, Patrick and Jerry Grohman; sister, Mary Miller; daughter-in-law, Dottie Renault; and son-in law, Mark Clark. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Alfonso Mendoza; sons, Grant Renault and wife, Ann, Kenneth Renault and wife, Jenny, Kevin Renault and wife, Loretta, Keith Renault, Brian Renault and wife, Priscilla; daughter, Grace Renault Clark; brothers, Leroy Grohman, Marvin Dale Grohman, Bill Grohman, and wife, Charmaine, Tommy Grohman, and wife, Audrey, Alphonse Grohman; sisters, Eleanor Domingue and husband, Curtis, Patricia Cloud and husband, Bill; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; her beloved dog, "Jill"; and a host of other family and friends.

Betty was very strong in her faith and a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Helen and working with the "Meals on Wheels" program. Betty was very generous to her church, her family and to those in need. She was truly loved by everyone. Betty always wanted to look her best, she enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner and going gambling with her family. She was affectionately known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren and family and will forever be remembered for her generous spirit and her love of Christmas and it's celebration with her loved ones. Betty will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

A visitation for Betty will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581 with Father Jim Courville officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, TX.
