Dolly Thornton CONESVILLE, Iowa - Dolly Thornton, 78, of Conesville, died Friday, October 10, 2008, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Burial will be at the Conesville Cemetery. Following the interment there will be a time of food and fellowship at the Conesville Community Center. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Dolly's name going to Amenity Hospice.

Dolly was born on August 18, 1930, in Muscatine, the daughter of William Wesley and Esther Louise Swednesky Turner.

She enjoyed collecting antique, glass bells and porcelain dolls, she also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and trips to the gambling boat.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Larry Thornton and wife, Jane, of Omaha, Nebraska, Donna Beebe and husband, Bob, of Decorah, Mary Bixby and husband, Daryl, of Columbus Junction and Tina Dubose and husband, Larry, of Phoenix, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Rose Carpenter and husband, Kenneth, of Muscatine and Alice Pidgeon of Coralville; and two brothers, Larry Turner and wife, Pam, of Brighton, and John Turner of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jimmy Wayne Thornton and a sister, Frances Wilson.
