raymond L. Moyer, 98, of Montoursville, formerly of Long Pond, died Wednesday in the home of his son, James. He was the husband of the late Nellie (Argot) Moyer.

Born in Long Pond, he was the son of the late Mahlon and Julie (Strunk) Moyer.

A farmer in Long Pond for more than 70 years, he also worked for Pocono Crest, formerly Luther Land, in Tobyhanna Township for many years.

He was a former school director on the Tunkhannock Township School Board and tax assessor in Tunkhannock Township. He was a member of Pocono Lake Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are three sons, James Moyer and his wife, Muriel, of Montoursville, Glen Moyer and his wife, Kathryn, of Long Pond, and Joseph Moyer and his wife, Joan, of Holland Patent, N.Y.; one daughter, Luella Warner and her husband, Walter, of RR 2 Saylorsburg; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Robert Moyer.

Burial in Mount Rest Cemetery, Pocono Lake.
