He was a bookkeeper and yardman for 30 years at Hardman Lumber Co., Hays. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9076 and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter of Holyrood; a daughter and husband of Grayslake, Ill.; a sister, of Hays; two grandsons and their wives; and
three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Peter Dinkel, Wendelin Dinkel, Eugene Dinkel, Otto Dinkel, Francis Dinkel and Joseph Dinkel; a sister, Bertha Dinkel; and an infant son, Randy Dinkel.
Services were at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, in Hays; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, with military honors by Hays VFW post No. 9076.
