Born Oct. 19, 1915, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Roy and Emma (Riley) Baker.
He was a member of Annunciation BVM Church, McSherrystown.
Baker retired from the former Valley Motors and more recently from Gene Latta Ford, Hanover.
He was a member of McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, McSherrystown Home Association, McSherrystown Fish and Game Association, McSherrystown Fire Co., CWV in Bonneauville, American Legion in Hanover, and AARP.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.
Surviving also are one son, Ronald D. Baker of McSherrystown; two daughters, Darlene Barnhart of McSherrystown and Mary Ann Roth of York; six grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Baker of Union Bridge, Md., and John Baker of Littlestown; and one sister, Mae Colburn of Baltimore.
Funeral services will be held Friday, meeting at Hicks Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, at 9:30 a.m. to proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Annunciation BVM Church with the Rev. Andre J. Meluskey officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening at the funeral home with prayers recited at 8 p.m.
