Harold went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 17, 2013. He was born on August 7, 1925 in Doniphan, Missouri to Roe Pitman and Edith Lewis Pitman (both deceased). His sisters, Wilma and Nadine, and brother Gene are also deceased.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years: Nora J. Pitman and 5 children: Larry Pitman (Lisa Pitman), David Pitman (Lora Pitman), Connie Pitman, Patricia McDaniels (Bruce McDaniels), and Mari Christina Knowles (Randy Knowles) all of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Justin Gurganian, Tiffany Pitman, Jason Pitman, Michael McDaniels, Elizabeth Pritchard, Pamela Boese, Christopher Pitman, Melissa Druckenmiller, Daniel Knoche, Valerie Knoche, Barbara Pitman, and Katelyn Pitman. In addition, Harold leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren: Colton Love, Ryan Boese, Elijah Boese, Ariana Boese, Rebecca Druckenmiller, Matthew Druckenmiller, and Tyler Knoche.

Harold proudly served in World War II as a Marine in the South Pacific, especially Guam, with the Ninth AAA Battalion and Marine Defense Unit. Harold enjoyed antiquing, gun shows, tinkering with watches, watching boxing, reading about history, and he loved dogs, but his real legacy was the model of faith and love he demonstrated to his entire family. Harold's sense of humor and good-natured personality were enjoyed by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Harold is absent from the body but present with his Lord.
