Obituary
HELEN ANDERSON
Helen A. Anderson Helen A. Anderson, after a brief illness, passed away on March 13, 2013. Helen was born April 3, 1918 in Tacoma, WA. She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Hazel, and her sisters Evelyn and Kathryn, and her brother Anders. Helen graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936, and proceeded to pursue a long secretarial career. She was a woman with a gentle soul, an immense generosity, and a focus on fairness. However, the most memorable attribute was her relish for adventure and travel, even into her 90's. At the age of 88 she climbed the tallest sand dunes in the world in Namibia, at 89 she toured Hong Kong, and at the age of 90 she zip-lined above Whistler, BC, Canada. The truest love of her life was Hazel, her twin sister. Although they were separated at various times of their lives, Helen always found her way back to Hazel's side. Helen leaves her nieces Paula Leitz (Steve) of Gig Harbor and Pam Meath (Don) of Leavenworth, WA, three grandsons, Ty Rallo (Emily), Chris Rallo (Kari), and Aaron Leitz (Kelsi), granddaughter Alex Sweeney (Patrick), and her favorite companion Tiffer Leitz. She was blessed to meet two new members of the family, Devin Leitz and Owen Rallo. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Peninsula Lutheran Church. A celebration of her life will be held at Peninsula Lutheran Church in Gig Harbor on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at Haven of Rest. To leave your favorite memory or condolences for the family please sign Helen's online guestbook at www.havenrest.com.
