ODD FELLOW LAID TO REST

William Alexander Had Been in the County for 12 years

Ill only one week, William Alexander succumbed to pneumonia Sunday. He was born in Tennessee 50 years ago and came to Whitman County 12 years ago. For a few years, he rented farms and then purchased the Love place. Later he bought Mohney farm of 640 acres, a few miles north of this city. Although practically penniless when he came to this country Mr. Alexander had prospered and was in comfortable circumstances at the time of his death.

Besides a wife, he leaves a married daughter, Mrs. Georgia Love, two sons, Wesley and Elmer and a daughter Winnie.

Funeral services were held at the late home Tuesday at 11 o'clock, Rev. N.M. Jones of the Methodist church officiating. Mr. Alexander was an Odd Fellow and members of that order had charge of the burial services in the Colfax Cemetery.
