William G. Henjes - Wet Mountain Tribune - April 9, 1965 - William G. Henjes Rites Held Monday - William Gustave Henjes, who was born Sept. 16, 1899 in the Wet Mountain Valley, died Monday, March 29 in Wichita, Kans. after a short illness. He was the son of William and Minnie Henjes. Billy Henjes was united in marriage to Mabel Seelye on Oct. 28, 1921. To this union was born four children. Three of them died in infancy. Mrs. Henjes passed away on June 16, 1959. Mr. Henjes was active in ranching and trucking in Custer County for 38 years until his retirement in 1960. He was married to Eva Rardin June 2, 1961 and moved to Wichita where he was making his home at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eva Henjes of Wichita; one daughter, Mrs. Michael Tomsick and four grandsons of Commerce City; one brother, Joseph Henjes of Lamar; and four sisters, Mrs. Laura Voss and Mrs. Minnie Knuth of Pueblo and Mrs. Amelia Miller and Mrs. Alfredia Hayes of Colorado Springs. Funeral services were held at Wichita on Thursday, April 1, and a short service was held at the Menzel funeral home in Westcliffe at 10: 30 a.m. Monday. Rev. Harold Hiller of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church of Pueblo was in charge. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery here. Pallbearers were Ralph Austin, Albert Voss, Joe Tomsick, Dick Tomsick, John Loens and John Coleman.
