William Albert (who went by Albert) was the second of three sons born to his parents, Samuel and Catharine (Ruhl) Spiggle. Albert was born in Galion in Polk Township, but his family moved and settled in nearby Jefferson Township before he was two years of age.
Albert worked for Erie Railway Company. In the early years, he was a railroad fireman and later became a railroad engineer.
On April 26, 1905, Albert married Elise Rebecca Beach who went by the nickname Elsie. They had two daughters, Miriam and Geraldine.
Albert lived to the age of 89.
