Allington Paul Wishart Jr.

Allington Paul Wishart, Jr., died April 8, 2013. Al was born in Knoxville, TN on 07 January 1946. He spent his childhood in Martin, TN and Texas. After returning to Knoxville, he graduated from Holston High School in 1964 and the University of Tennessee in 1969. After college Al served seven years as a Lieutenant/Captain in the U.S. Army Transportation Corp. After military service Al served as a station agent for Greyhound in Rogersville, TN and Dalton, GA for Trailways. He later founded a small transit line between Knoxville, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg (Sassafras Trans) which he operated for 17 years. In addition, Al owned and operated the Knoxville Hostel for over 10 years. Al was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the chancel choir and the Inquisitive Christians Sunday school class. Al was also a long time harp singer involved with the Epworth singing group. Al was preceded in death by his first mother, Mary Bernice Williams Wishart, his father, A. Paul Wishart, and his second mother, Mary Alyce Sprinkle Wishart. A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church April 16, 2013 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Second Presbyterian Church music program. Internment will be at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a family ceremony.
