Navy flier who died when his ZR-2 dirigible fell into the Humber River at Hull, England. He was 31 years of age, and married to a Greensboro native, Miss Mable Ridge. He was a "chief aviation rigger", and had joined a party of American fliers who went to England for instruction in handling dirigibles preparatory to bringing to the US the "monster" ship built for the US Navy by England. He had been stationed out of Pensacola, Fl. for a number of years, but had transferred to England in April of 1920. His wife was staying at the home of her mother on Blandwood Ave. when her husband was killed. They had no children. (Note: Maurice was a 14 and a half year veteran of the US Navy.)
