The below follows the 3rd Edition (2006) of Vol. 4 of Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, Family of Edward Fuller, p. 24 for Timothy Fuller,4 (Samuel,3 Matthew,2 Edward,1). At least one error is in Timothy's sketch in which it is stated "An account of the estate of George Gates of East Haddam, dated 1 June 1725, names Sarah Fuller among his heirs." In the original probate record of the estate of George Gates, the date cited refers to an April 20, 1725 accounting of the estate George Gates had given his children before his death. In said account, "Sarah Gates the eldest daughter received..." In the subsequent Sept. 25, 1725 post-death distribution of the estate , "We have set out and distributed to ye heirs of Sarah Gates..." Timothy Fuller's first wife Sarah is never called by her married name in her father's probated estate. Nor is Sarah's sister Mary (Gates) Cone called by her married name in the same two distributions.

In addition, despite single year recorded dates in vital records, the author of the Edward Fuller Family repeatedly failed to recognize double year dating between Jan. 1st and Mar. 24th in the old pre-1752 Julian calendar. Accordingly, Sarah (Gates) Fuller was more likely born of record on Mar. 16, 1670/71, not simply Mar. 16, 1670 as such date is recorded in the published Haddam, Conn. vital records.
