In Memoriam -- Death has again invaded our neighborhood and removed from among us our beloved friend and neighbor, Ira Clyde "Babe" Underwood. "Babe" is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Underwood and was born in San Angelo, Texas, June 12th, 1890. He died at the home of his mother, February 4th, 1921. Tuberculosis was the cause of his death. All was done for the improvement of his health, but the disease could not be checked. He gradually grew weaker and with wonderful fortitude prepared for the end he knew was inevitable. His dying testimony was that he had made peace with his God and that the end would be His gain. The deceased was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Miss Dorothy Elkins, May 12th 1917. To this union were born two children, Lindel and Juanita Underwood. He leaves his wife, two children, a mother, one sister, four brothers, and a host of friends to mourn his loss. But we all feel that our loss is Heaven's gain. The funeral services were conducted at the family home Friday afternoon by Rev. E. Wilson. The body was laid to rest at the Hazel Dell cemetery, there to sleep a peaceful slumber until the Resurrection Morn. The grave was decorated with beautiful flowers as our last tribute to our beloved friend and neighbor. We, one and all, wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones who are left behind. We implore them to put their trust in God and be prepared to meet their loved one beyond the veil of tears where they shall be re-united never to part again.
