DEATHS AND FUNERALS
Enoch P. Downes
Enoch P. Downes, 86, died Thursday afternoon, June 24, 1926, at the home of his step-daughter, Mrs. W.A. Adams, one mile southwest of Stillwater, Ok. Cancer was the cause of his death. He had been an invalid the last year, having lived about three years at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adams.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in Stillwater, at the Strode Funeral home, 610 Duncan street. Services were conducted by the Rev. Herbert E. Gatti, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Burial was in Fair Lawn cemetery.
The decedent had lived in Payne county many years, coming here in 1890. He is survived by his widow and by one daughter, Mrs. Mollie Zetzche, of Chico, Calif.
