May was a school teacher before her marriage. May married Charles Benjamin Martin, son of Dr. M.T. and Hannah Martin, on October 7, 1905, at her parents' home in Woodburn. He was a railroad conductor and they moved to Livingston, Montana, to live. After Charles' retirement from the Northern Pacific Railroad they moved to Park City, Montana. Charles died on April 26, 1953, in Billings, Yellowstone Co., Montana. May died on September 1, 1962, in San Diego, California. Their son: Charles Benjamin, Jr., born September 13, 1912, in Woodburn.
