Mary A. Katzman taken by death Mrs. Mary Anna Katzman widow of Balthasar Katzman died at 5:30 o'clock Sunday evening at the Home hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks. Death was caused by a complication of diseases. Since the death of her husband in 1921 Mrs. Katzman has lived with a daughter, Mrs. Allen B. Adams at 529 South Twenty-ninth Street. She was born in Baden Baden Germany, July 20, 1852 a daughter of the late Bernard and Sophia Roth. With her parents she came directly to Lafayette in 1855 and had lived here ever since. On June 26, 1870 she was married to Mr. Katzman to which union 12 children were born. Mrs. Katzman was a member of St. James Lutheran church and a charter member of its Ladies Aid society. Surviving are seven children George B. and Martin A. Katzman with Mrs. Allen B. Adams of Lafayette; Mrs. Henry Kelm and Mrs. Edward Reed of Chicago and Mrs. John Mollenkopf of West Point and Walter E. Katzmann of Des Moines, IA; two sisters Mrs. Magdelm Myers and Mrs. Elizabeth Cain and a brother Stephen Roth all of Lafayette with 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The body was removed Monday from the Soller funeral parlors to the Adams home where it may be viewed until the hour of the funeral. Private services will be held at the Adams home. Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with public services at 2:30 o'clock at St. James Lutheran church. Rev. P. G. Schmidt pastor in charge; burial in Springvale.
