John L. Livelsberger, 73, of 160 Wappler Drive, Hanover, died Sunday afternoon at the Hanover General Hospital where he was a patient for two months. He was the husband of Loretta A. Staub Livelsberger.
He was born in Adams County, the son of the late Henry D. and Alverta A. Smith Livelsberger.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Basilica. He was a retired employee of P.H. Gladfelter in Sprin Grove. He was a member of the Conewago Fire Co., the CWV in Bonneauville, the McSherrystown Home Association, the McSherrystown Fish and Game. He was a veteran of World War II and served with U.S. Army in the Pacific with the 5th Air Force.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, John H. Livelsberger of Thomasville and Eugene W. Livelsberger of Hanover; one daughter, Loretta A. Livelsberger, at home; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marie J. Adams of Millersville and Mrs. Genevieve J. Tressler of McSherrystown; and one brother, Henry C. Livelsberger of Hanover.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, meeting at the Hicks Funeral Home, McSherrystown at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Scared Heart Basilica at 11 a.m. with his pastor Monsignor George W. Rost as celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
