Robert J. Katterson, 77, of Ambridge, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006.

Born April 4, 1929, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Lyman H. Katterson and Edith Blanche Berry.

He was a member of the Ambridge Methodist Church; Parian Lodge No. 662 of Free and Accepted Masons of America of Beaver Falls; the New Castle Consistory of 32nd Degree Masons, and the Syria Mosque Shrine, Pittsburgh.

He was the owner and broker of Katterson Real Estate and was a real estate broker for 32 years. He was a retired machinist from Armco Steel with 28 years of service, and also worked at Ambridge Auto Parts, National Electric, American Bridge, and Ambridge Tool and Die.

Surviving are his former wife and lifelong friend, Patricia Yokel Katterson, Pittsburgh; a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Anna Marie Katterson, Leechburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Gary Lawson, Emsworth; four grandchildren, Rebeca, Jason and Tim Katterson, and Candice Lubert; a great-grandson, Dylan Katterson, and a friend and companion, Marilyn Meskow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Katterson; a daughter, Sandra Katterson Lubert, and two brothers, Lyman Katterson Jr. and Edward Katterson.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bert Domineck officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Saturday at 10:45 a..m. in the cemetery to conduct full military honors.
