Lyman C. Katterson

Lyman C. Katterson, 74, of Economy, died Sunday, April 14, 2002, in the Sewickley Valley Hospital.

Born Feb. 23, 1928, a son of the late Lyman H. and Edith Blanche Berry Katterson, he was a member of the Economy United Methodist Church; Freedom FOE; Freedom SOI, and the Baden American Legion. He retired from Armco Steel after 40 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Marilyn Burlett Katterson, in 1988, and a brother, Edward Katterson.

Surviving are his wife, Earllene Pike Katterson, at home; three sons, Randy, Rochester, and Brian and Christopher, at home; two daughters and their spouses, Terri and Howard Wise, in Florida, and Ruth and John Searfoss; two brothers, Robert, Ambridge and Lyman J., Monaca; six grandchildren, Wanda Shelly, Tracy Jimenez, Chris Antel, Aimee Wise, and Scot and Ted Searfoss; numerous great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Matter-Tatalovich Funeral Home, 1133 Church St., Ambridge, www.tatalovichfuneralhome.com where a service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bert Domineck officiating.

Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.

The Baden American Legion Post 641 will meet today at 7 p.m. in the funeral home to provide a service for their late brother.
