Martha Tweeten, age 90 of Bismarck, formerly of Washburn, passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2013 at her son's home in Mesa, AZ.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 18th at Washburn Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Torkelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home in Washburn.

Martha Marian was born June 25, 1922 in rural Turtle Lake, ND to Gottlieb & Mary Ann (Klain) Mehrer. She attended school through the 8th grade. Martha married H. Kenneth Tweeten on Sept. 8th, 1941. They made their home on the family farm north of Washburn where they farmed and ranched for 49 years. Martha was a faithful member of the Washburn Baptist Church for many years. She operated a catering business and displayed her creativity through woodworking, drawing, painting, sewing, and music.

Martha is survived by two sons, John (Debbie) Tweeten of Mesa, AZ, and Harold Tweeten of Washburn; daughter, Karen (Bruce) Wheeler of Bloomington, IN; 16 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann, Ellen, & Violet; and one brother, Leon.
