John Dorgan Dies After Long Illness
Rosary Recited at Gray's Chapel Tuesday, With Mass at Church
John Henry Dorgan of Traffic Way passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, following a long illness. Funeral mass was held at St. Rose Catholic Church in Paso Robles on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, followed by interment at the San Luis Obispo Catholic Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary took place at Gray's Chapel on Tuesday evening at 7:30.
Mr. Dorgan was born in Boston on May 6, 1872, and was over 70 years of age at the time of his death. He had lived in California seven years, of which two were spent in Atascadero.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Etta May Dorgan, of Atascadero; a son, Raymond Dorgan, of Potlatch, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Raneta Rose Drake, of Santa Margarita; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Moran, of Woodland; a brother, Maurice Dorgan, of Portland, Ore., and five grandchildren.
In May 1907, John Henry Dorgan received his land patent from the federal government for homesteading 156.18 acres in Adams Co., WA:
