Mr. Brantley is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Northern and Lizzie K. Brantley; two sisters, Zoie Wallace and Ruby Lee Jackson; brothers, J.A. Brantley and Jim E. Brantley; son-in-law, Jimmy Manning; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Register. Survivors include his wife, Betty W. Brantley of Dublin.
He served in the United States Navy during WW II. He retired from the VA. He was an avid fisherman. Mr. Brantley was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church, member of L.B. Roberts Sunday School Class, member of
Sportsman Club, member of the Veteran Administration Retirement Association, and a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church Men's Softball Team.
He was a graduate of Dublin High School Adult Academic Education. Mr. Brantley was given many awards, Veteran Administration Award for thirty years, Veteran Administration Performance Award, Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Dublin Parks and Recreation, Department for Volunteer Service, Georgia Recreation and Parks Society Lay Award, Dublin Lions Club
Citizen of the Month and was the Man of the Year for Laurens County Sportsman Club in 1993 and 1998.
The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on
Monday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
