LANETT -- Mrs. Laura Fuller Barker, 78, of Lanett died Friday, July 8, 2005 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Memorial services are scheduled Thursday, July 14 at 11 a.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point with the Rev. James Lisenby officiating.
Mrs. Barker is survived by her husband, Melvin Barker of Lanett; her son, Zach Fuller of Port Aransas, Texas; one granddaughter, Shanna (Lynn) Roberts of Sanford, N.C.; one great-grandson, Fuller Reese Roberts of Sanford; and four sisters, Inez Sims, Ruth Pinkard, Frances Hill and Resa Ison, all of LaFayette.
Born Sept. 18, 1926 in Chambers County, Mrs. Barker was the daughter of the late Janie Hall Fant and the late Olin G. Fant. She was a graduate of Milltown High School. Mrs. Barker retired from WestPoint Stevens Graphics with more than 20 years of service. She was a homemaker and was active in Sunset Heights Baptist Church of Lanett where she had served on several committees. Mrs. Barker was an avid fan of Auburn University and the Atlanta Braves.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice, 6 Medical Park North, Valley, 36854.
