Dorothy Faye Gerhold Adams born in San Antonio, Texas November 19, 1926 to Herman W. Gerhold and Sudie Kennedy, entered eternal life March 24, 2013 age 86. She attended Alamo Heights Independent School District where she enrolled in the first grade and graduated from high school in 1944. During the war years she worked at Randolph Field and then attended Southwest Texas State University where she met her loving husband Robert D. Adams III. They were married on July 19, 1947 at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. Dottie and Bob were genealogists traveling the country to find their roots. Dottie belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and The Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Dottie attended Alamo Heights United Methodist Church as a teenager, was married there in 1947 and was a current member. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Robert D. Adams III, sister Jerry Halliday Messarra and son Keith Adams. She is survived by her daughter Karon Dooley, son-in-law Douglas Dooley, daughter-in-law Lynda Adams, and grandchildren Stephanie Dooley Logan, Stephen Dooley, Sarah Adams and Justin McCutcheon. A memorial service will take place at 11:45 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, 825 E. Basse, San Antonio, Texas. A private burial was held at Sunset Memorial Park.
