Elizabeth is one of four children (2 males, 2 females) of Gerhard Heinrich Beyke and Anna Christina Elisabeth Kamp. She married Herman H. Graves 8 Nov 1864 in Ferdinand, Indiana and is the mother of five sons. Herman died 10 Oct 1897 in Beloit, Kansas, and Elizabeth married Lewis McKinney (date and place unknown)

Grandma McKinney was born in Germany but came to this county when only one year old and settled in Pittsburg, Penn. In 1861 she was married to Herman Graves. Five sons were born to this union, four of whom survive her. In October, 1897 after the death of her first husband she married Louis McKinney.
She died at the home of her son, Alonzo McKinney. May 12, 1917, at the age of 84 years, one month and one day.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 15, from the late home, Reb. Heide conducting the services, assisted by Rev. Zook. Burial was in the Prairie Grove cemetery.
