HIS PARENTS: Thomas Jefferson Coffee and Louella (Christian). He was born in Woodville, Pickens County (now known as Marshall County), in Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.

He married Hattie May French on June 4, 1910. Their children: Bernice (abt. 1912); John Lewis. (1914-1994); Monett (1917-2010); Thomas J. (1921-1967); and Mary Nell Coffee (b. 1927). The 1930 Fed. Census indicates John a merchant in Woodville.
