Came to US in 1905 from Antwerp, Neth, to New York. Lived with sister Marie for short time, and went to Chicago in 1909-1910. Lived in Chicago's Blue Island area, met and married Anna there. They lived in Chicago until June 1918. Went to Michigan to find a farm. After renting several farms, finally bought one in Buckley. (In NY lived 441 E 75, and also with Joe) Arrived in US on SS Zeeland, on 14 Nov 1905.
Died of Myocardial Failure; atherosclerotic heart disease. In hospital from Oct 3- Oct 17.

Property.. Wexford County all of east five-eights of SE 1/4 of scetion 2 in Township 24 North range 12 east except 14 rodds f SE Corder, being 14 rods N and S be 10 Rods E and W containing 99 acres; valued $12,000 in 1967
Also owned lake lot: Lot 9 Cermacks Division,, E 1.2 of NE 1/4 sec 33, Township 26 N Range 1210. Lies w of M and NE RR right of way in Green Lake Township, Grand Traverse Co, MI
Grandpa talked a lot about the old country to strangers.
He had an old cup that held about a pint, that was enamel with black handle;
Bill found that the relatives in Kozlany had cups like it.
Grandpa knew Pres Masurek, and Cernack. They helped get streets paved in
Kozlany working within the system in Czechoslovakia.

Paternal grandparents were Vaclav, a kovář (blacksmith), and Petronila Vožech.
Mother was Barbora Dubská
Maternal grandparents (from Čilá, Rokycany, Plzeň) were Frantisek, a rolnik (peasant farmer), and Marie Patera.
Jan and Barbora were married 22-OCT-1878 in Čilá house #5.
