Angelo Accornero died Saturday, May 12, 1979 in a local hospital after being in failing health for the past two years. He was 61.

Mrs. Accornero was born, raised and educated in San Francisco. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and after his discharge owned and operated the New Lucca Grocery Story on Third Street in San Francisco for 35 years.

He had worked a s a pipe fitter at Hunter's Point Shipyard and at Mare Island for the past 13 years until he retired due to ill health last October.

Mr. Accornero and his wife moved to Petaluma in July 1978. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Verdi Club of San Francisco, and a past president of the San Francisco Bay View Merchants' Association.

He is survive by his wife Thelma Beatrice Accornero (nee Murphy) and his son, Glenn A. Accornero, both of Petaluma and three grandchildren. He was the son of Valentina Accornero of San Francisco and the brother of Italo Accornero of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Norma Lawler of Santa Rosa.

Funeral services will be held at the Parent Funeral Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church. Recitation of the Rosary will be at the Chapel. Interment will follow at the Golden Gate National Cemetery.
