BARWICK Eloy Laverne Barwick passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born on February 18, 1946 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Eloy L. & Laura (Becton) Barwick. Former resident of Jacksonville, graduate of Paxon High School Class of 1964 and Faulkner University , Montgomery, Alabama, Class 1967. He retired from United Parcel Service as a feeder driver after 30 years and was a member of the Mack One Million Mile Safe Drivers Club. He was a former business agent and member of Teamsters Local 512 in Jacksonville. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and was an experienced sharpshooter.
Mr. Barwick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Dean), daughters, Becky Bell (Don) Jacksonville, Jaime, Live Oak and granddaughter Kayla, brother, Don (Winter Garden) and special aunt Mary Ann Smith of Valdosta, Georgia.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 30th at Daniels Memorial Chapel with Mr. John McMath and Mr. Bruce Barwick officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery. Memorials may be given in his name to Suwannee Valley Care Center Haven Hospice, 6037 West US Hwy 90 Lake City, Florida 32055 or to the Wounded Warriors Project. Daniels Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., of Live Oak and Branford, FL in charge of arrangements.
