The Ward Murder and Lynching. - Lytle, who was shot by Donahue July 27th, at Ward, Nevada, was wounded in the neck near the windpipe, the ball lodging in the back of the neck. He died a few hours afterwards. Lytle, Donahue and some other persons were in Wm. Morse's saloon, when some words passed between the former two. Shortly afterwards Lytle stepped out of the saloon, followed by Donahue, who kneeled down on the ground, and taking deliberate aim with his pistol, fired. The greatest excitement was created by the murder. Donahue was taken by the citizens. Deputy Constable Winslow shortly afterwards rescued the prisoner from his captors, but only held him a short time before he was retaken by the citizens. He was allowed to pick his own jury, with the agreement, if the proposition received eight votes out of twelve, that he was to be turned over to the officers. He was afterwards placed in the custody of Constable Stone, by whom he was being taken to Hamilton, when he was stopped and the prisoner taken by a number of armed men, and hanged by his captors.
