Irene was born to Charles Edward and Cora Pearl McLaughlin Donath. She married Edward P. Zimmerman on Nov. 5, 1927, in Princeton, Ill. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1978.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
She worked for Kroger in downtown Chillicothe, managing the meat market during World War II, and later spent 17 years working at Irons Concrete Block Company in Chillicothe.
