A Union sypathizer and a leader of the Union League, an organization led by the Freedmen's Bureau. Also a leader in the infamous Lee-Peacock Feud (1867-1871) which began in the Four Corners area of Fannin County, Texas. According to Capt._Bob_Lee, a Confederate veteran, the feud began when Peacock led a group to falsely arrest and rob him, though this is obviously a one-sided view and was refuted by Peacock. Approximately 50 men died as a result of this feud.

Buried here by the Reverend Martin Gentry.
