Leiba was found in a dumpster with 3 other tiny kittens. My daughter Mariesa found them and brought them all home. That was in early 2006. Leiba was the only one that survived, and Mariesa doited on him like he was a child. He was very precious to her. She made sure at nite he did not get out, and that he was always fed and had clean water. She would walk thru the house singing his name. Leeeeeeebaaaaaa, leeeebaaaaaa, I can still hear her singing that. I always promised Mariesa I would make sure Leiba did not get out when she was coming home late, I always promised to take care of him when she was not at home. When she unexpectally lost her life in Oct 2006, We, as was Leiba felt the worst devistation one could feel. Leiba would go by her room and cry to get in, still till this day, he layed on a chair by her door at the entrance of her room, Or he would sleep on another chair by her room. Leiba was very particular on who he would let handle him. He became very close to me, sitting in my lap, biteing my hand or just rubbingn his fur, but most times he would just curl up in a ball in my lap when i watch tv. He loved any kind of food and was always there as soon as i entered the kitchen, he, like most cats could hear a can opener from a mile away. Leiba was fine Monday nite, he sat in the chair here with Mariesa's sister right next to the computer and had a bit of pizza and whatever else he could waggle out of us. He didnt run outside in the day like he usually did for at least two days, just was content to lay on the chair here on a big pillow, go in the kitchen to eat, walk about inside but not go outside which he usually always did, then he would come by the side door and call me,,, or i would call him to let him in. I had come to love Leiba very much, he was the one link that truly connected me to my daughter, other then a human. Monday nite every thing was as usual, then after midnite, around 1;30 he made a loud funny cry, not funny in laughable but odd. I jumped up and called him, he came walking in the living room and headed towards Mariesa's door when he again let out with this strange cry and went all of a sudden into a seizure like he was being electricuted, i was stunned, as i watched him with his legs in the air wiggling and screaming, i had never ever seen anything happen like that to any animal i have ever owned. It lasted maybe 30 or 40 seconds then he was still. Laying regular on the floor as if he were sleeping, i went over to him calling his name, nothing. I got a flashlight to see if he were breathing, i felt where his heart is,,,,, nothing, He was gone, just like that , in a flash with no warning. I was shocked for so many reasons, one, the loss of him and two, promising Mariesa i would always care for him and i truly did, I was always sure he had food, he was in the house and I just now miss him so much. I truly hope he is with you Mariesa. Please know I love him and did all i could to make him have a good life, he left to soon as did you. This has just made me so very sad. He is buried near Dakota, I made sure he was secured so no dirt touched him. I miss you Leiba,,,, I hope you have found Mariesa.
++++++++++++++++++++++ So much thanks goes to an angel that flutters on by , the stars and tears of hope she drops on me have the letters SSBJ on them. She is a true angel with so much love and compassion in her heart, I have never met anyone like her. Love goes out to her, her daughter Rhysa, and her family, nothing keeps her from spreading so much love and hope around. I will always be thankful to this angel by the name of Sue. ++++++++++++++++++++++
