Charles was born on May 19, 1921 in Colliers, WV a son of the late Charles O. and Elise Brown Welshans, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Alta Riggle Welshans who passed away in 1999, a son, Charles Marshall Welshans, two brothers, William and Jack Welshans, and four sisters, Catherine George, Ida Mae Wargo, Betty Welshans, and Wanda Vasquez.

Charles was retired from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked in the Tin Mill and the Water Department. He was also a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year Club, and a former member of the Odd Fellows and Boy Scouts of America.
He was Protestant by faith.

Surviving is his daughter, Carolyn Fisher and husband David of Mineral, VA

Friends will be received on Monday, May 11th from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV where services will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tom Deane officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery in Colliers, WV.
