(3.) Robert E Wiles. married first Virginia Smeley, second marriage, Mae E. Strausburgh. (4.) Doris R Wiles, married William Kendall.
OBITUARY :
MRS. NORA BARKDOLL WILES, 82, wife of John R. Wiles, Smithsburg, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Garlock Nursing Home, Hagerstown. She had been in failing health for several years and was a guest at the nursing home since May 1967.
Mrs. Wiles was born at Greensburg, Smithsburg R.D. 3, Feb. 2, 1887, daughter of the late William F. and Susan Fitz Barkdoll.
All of her life had been lived in the Smithsburg area. She and Mr. Wiles were married in February 1916.
Mrs. Wiles was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Greensburg, and the Lutheran Church Women.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by these children, William B. Wiles and Mrs. Maurice Slick, both of Smithsburg, Mrs. William Kendall, Hagerstown, and Robert E. Wiles, Waynesboro. Also surviving are two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a halfsister, Mrs. Mabel Bowman, Smithsburg.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in charge of Pastor R. Henry Neikirk. Burial will be made in the Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
