Frances Maxine Allison Connor, 76, died at Mountain Trace Nursing & Rehab Center, March 18, 2013. A native of Jackson County, daughter of the late Frank and Jessie Chambers Allison. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James Verlin Connor in 2002, brothers, Gene and Jack Allison, sisters, Cletea Sorrells and Sue Hensley. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Maxine Ray of Waynesville and sons, James Dale Connor and wife Hope of Sylva and Douglas Mark Connor and wife Dawn of Tuckasegee; sisters, Velma Webb of Sylva and Pat Blanton of Black Mountain; brothers, Curtis and Marvin Allison of Sylva, Doyle Allison of Enka and Donald Allison of Arden; six grand children, Krista, Brandon, Tyler, Tristen, Nick and Lauren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in the chapel of Melton Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Stillwell and Reverend Avery Brown officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 prior to the service.
