Mary Elizabeth Teer was born Jan. 29, 1858, at Brainthrop, Lincolnshire England and was married to Geo. Elliott, Nov. 3, 1886, to this union was born 5 children, 3 boys and two girls, who with the husband, still survive; she also leaves an aged father and mother, 4 brothers and one sister in Canada, and her sister Mrs. Sterriker, of Loami, Ill., besides many other relatives and friends. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church when 16 years of age and has lived an earnest christian life, always hopeful, a loving wife, a devoted mother and a conscientious neighbor, loved and respected by all. Funeral services were held at Little York church Sunday Aug. 7, at 3 o'clock p.m. and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. T. H. Agnew, of this city. A large concourse of friends and neighbors were present and many followed the remains to the East cemetery at Waverly, Ill. The offering of many beautiful flowers bore evidence of the high esteem in which she was held by her many friends.
