Mrs. Lucinda Eldridge, died last Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rose Baggerly, in this city, where she had resided since the death of her husband.
Mrs. Eldridge was born near Waverly, December 1, 1856, a daughter of William and Rose White, and was 88 years, 1 month and 27 days of age at the time of her death.
On April 7, 1875, she was married to Charles Eldridge, and they made their home in the Mud Prairie community until a few days before his death, which occurred on November 12, 1939.
Mrs. Eldridge is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rose Baggerly, Mrs. Elsie Points, Mrs. Neva Austif, all of Waverly, and Mrs. Katie Pence, of Palmyra; four sons, Oren, of Waverly, Cleve of Palmyra, Charles of Pisgah, and Earl of Modesto; also 43 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren. A son, Frank, and a daughter, Mrs. Clara Shepherd, preceded her in death. She was a kind and loving mother, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held at the Neece Funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Francis E. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church.
Burial was in East cemetery.
