“Perry, July 22 – The funeral of Mrs. Mary Margaret Turner, who died at her home at 29 Bradford street, Perry, N.Y., on Tuesday, July 18th, at seven o’clock, was held on Friday at the house at two o’clock. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.A. Matthews, pastor of the Perry M.E. church. [Mrs. Turner] was 65 years of age. She leaves to mourn her loss seven children, William Agard of Cohocton; Mrs. Henry Newton, Mrs. John Wheeler, Morgan Turner and James Turner of Perry; Mrs. John Chriscaden of Wheeler, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Laura Calhoun of Branchport, and many grandchildren. She will be greatly missed as a kind friend and a good neighbor…Her former home was Wayland.”
