Agnes was taken ill Sunday the 22nd at 12:00, and died 6 hrs. later in the
Pensacola Hospital, the same day. (Family records states that it was a heart
attack.)
Obituary reads:
Mrs. Agnes Morton Holifield, 45, died suddenly Sunday afternoon at the
Pensacola Hospital.
She leaves her husband, J.T. Holifield of Brownsville; three sons, Earl and
Alvin Holifield of Pensacola and Walter Holifield of the Navy; a daughter Mrs.
Ruth Toffolio of Pensacola; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mellie Norris
of Pensacola and Mrs. P.N. Ellis of New Orleans.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home
3100 Mobile highway and at 2:15 from the Whitfield Memorial Baptist church with
Rev. T.W. Lampkin officiating, assisted by Rev. E.L. Hardin and the Navy
chaplain.
Pallbearers will be: Honorary, Herman Morton, Perry Morton, Kenneth Quigley,
Woodrow Steele, Harold Pate, and Ed Wood; active Emery Kendrick, Francis Pate,
Tom Shelby, Otis Baggett, L.D. McArthur and C.C. Baggett.
Burial will be in St. John's cemetery with Fisher-Pou directing.
