Joseph P. "Joe" Riney, 82, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of this county, died at his home in the St. Rose neighborhood, on Sunday, January 8, 1899.
He was born on May 13, 1816, in Washington County, Kentucky, the son of Clement Riney and Elizabeth Ann Gates.
He was a remarkable man in many respects, his hair being of luxuriant growth and not a gray hair in his head up to the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Isabella Cambron Riney.
He leaves two daughters, Rose Catherine and Mary Rosalia Riney.
His burial took place in Saint Rose Cemetery, Springfield, Kentucky.
