Carl spent a short stint in the Army after graduation. He then worked for the arsenal until it closed and had a short stay at Anderson Windows. In 1957, he started at 3M and spent 29 years there. Besides his day job, he spent most of his free time helping his brother Chester and then his son Glenn keep the farm going.
In 1960, he won the lottery and got Shirley to say "I do" on September 4th. The kids followed shortly, Dawn, then Glenn, and finally Lori. They built a house on the original farmstead and still reside there.
He loved farming, cutting wood, bowling, and Swedish get togethers. He loved time with his grandkids and his recliner.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, brother Chester, and sister Lorna.
