Julian was the son of Bennye Jean and Walter Beverly Conner (St. Andrews Cemetery). He was a farmer and building contractor. He was a WWII veteran and served 2 years overseas with the 108th Infantry, 45th Division, known as "The Thunderbirds". He spent 511 days on the fighting line and participated in six major battles in Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was awarded the Silver Star for outstanding heroism. He married Mary Conwell later in life. He had no children.
