Abram H. Herbert, 77, of 160 East River road, Rumson, died yesterday morning. He was born at West Point Pleasant, son fo the late Abram H. and Meriam B. Herbert and had lived at Rumson 50 years. Until his retirement 15 years ago, Mr. Herbert was a buildng contractor. He was a charter member of the Rumson Fire department and a member of Goodwill Methodist church, Rumson, and the Carpents Union, Red Bank. Surviving are four daughters, Miss Meriam Herbert and Mrs. Paul Holloway, Rumson, and Mrs. Leo Langdon and Mrs. James Craig, Red Bank; a son, Alfred A. Herbert, Little Silver; a sister, Mrs. George Curtis, Manasquan, and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Rumson Methodist church, with Rev. Winfield W. West officiating. Burial will be in Bay View cemetery, under direction of the Mount memorial home.
