Joshua Michael Martino, age 19, South Main Street, DuBois, PA died Monday, March 18, 2013 in Hawthorne, NV as a result of injuries sustained in a military training mission.
Born on May 28, 1993 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Karen (Murdock) Perry of DuBois, PA and Vincent Martino of Brockway, PA. They both survive.
He was a 2012 graduate of DuBois Area High School where he was a member of the track, football, and rifle teams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Josh loved to travel and had recently participated in the People to People Program as a student ambassador traveling to Europe.
He was engaged to be married to Annastasia Srock in October of this year. She survives.
He was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. as a mortarman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, John A. Perry of DuBois, PA, three brothers, Anthony J. Perry and his wife, Jennifer of Moshannon, PA, John V. Perry and his wife, Jodie of Beaver, PA, James M. Perry and his wife, Angela of Dallastown, PA, four nieces, Madison, Gabrielle, Mia and Isla Perry, and one nephew, Caleb Bell, his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Murdock of DuBois, PA, two aunts, Pamela Murdock of DuBois, PA and Connie Mowrey of DuBois, PA, two uncles, Dominic Martino of Naples, FL and Leonard Martino of Brockway, PA.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Murdock and his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Mercedes Martino.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 12-4 P.M. and 5-8 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 10 A.M. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski and Fr. David Foradori officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded at Morningside Cemetery.
