Mrs. T.H. Bentley Passes Away
Mrs. T.H. Bentley, one of the old and highly esteemed residents of this community, died at he home of her son Emmett, in Madison, April 7th, aged 74 years, 7 Months and 21 days. The cause of her death was cancer. While she had not been in good health for some time her last illness was of four weeks duration.
Almira Inman was born near Parkman village, Ohio, August 17, 1841. She moved with her parents when a girl nine years old to Dane county Wisconsin and has resided ever since near Oregon.
She was united in marriage with Tillinghast H. Bentley, March 4th, 1860; who preceded her in death nine years ago. To this union was born six children, five of whom survive her; Emmett R., of Madison; Alta M. Fichter, of Randolph, Ia.; Fred W., of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Wayne R. of Oregon. The youngest, Florence R. died May 6, 1896. She also leaves one sister and five brothers; Mary E. Fichter, Manderville, and Myron, all of Randolph, Ia.; and Norton, of Elsie, Neb.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from her home at Oak Hall, Rev. G.H. Foster officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Hall cemetery.
