OLD TIME STAGE DRIVER PASSES
Talman L. Beadle Drove From Kingston to Delhi Before the Days of the Ulster & Delaware Railroad
Talman L. Beadle, one of the most highly respected citizens of Clovesville passed away Saturday morning, at his residence after an illness of a few weeks.
The deceased was born August 2, 1854 and was the son of John and Clarinda B. Beadle. His birth place was the property known as Camp Meromah, and owned by Joseph Keshner. While he was a young man, his parents moved to Kingston. Soon after the Civil war, he became one of the stage drivers from Kingston to Fleischmanns. Mr. Beadle is the last of the old stage coach drivers on the route from Kingston to Delhi. After the Ulster and Delaware railroad was built stage coaches were discontinued.. He married on November 19, 1876, Nettie Hewitt of Clovesville.
Of this union were born four children, Mrs. Cora Krum, Mrs. Dora Ballard, Byron, who died at the age of five years, and Mrs. Lucy Baker. He was three times married. His second wife was Susan Searles, who died some years ago. His third wife was Mrs. Mary Decker.
Mr. Beadle lived several years at Highmount and was caretaker for the Hotel Grampian and other properties. About 1880 he purchased his present residence and a farm at Clovesville where he has since resided, except for a few years at Margaretville.
He sold from the farm the West Fleischmanns Park development to Williams & Williams, where the local ski club plans for winter sports. All his life Mr. Beadle was active in the business and social life, of the community and helped to develop the community.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Dora Ballard and Mrs. Lucy Baker, and a number of grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the residence and were conducted by Rev. Marion Combs. Interment in the family plot in the Clovesville cemetery, Fleischmanns Cor.

Beadle, wife, is willed life use of house and lot (wife predeceased testator.) To Cora Krum, Dora Ballard and Lucy Baker, daughters, the house and lot above mentioned and equal share of residue.
