Joseph V. Leonard Sr., 75, North Port, died July 4, 2003. He was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Hamburg, N.Y., and came to North Port in 1992 from Sacramento, Calif. He was an accountant for the federal government and retired after 21 years with the Marines. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and Living Waters Lutheran Church, both in North Port, the Elks in Sacramento and the Sacramento Roundups. Survivors include his wife, Joan; a son, Joseph V. Sr. of Concord, Calif.; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Harbor Isles Club House. National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte chapter, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society, 22107 Elmira Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
